B-1 Studio: Lovejoy Warf
Developing an architectural language through extending the linear relationships from the haphazard irregularity of the Boston's North End, and the rhythmic, parallel order of the Bullfinch Triangle into the ground-plane of the site, drive a web of intricate linear geometries that echo the city. Using this as a grid to cut and fold a singular-planar surface, the ground-plane of the Lovejoy site is transferred into an active surface, dynamic and responsive – as an experiential connection with transportation linking the Boston harbor walk: including 1) places of movement: circulation of water taxis, bike paths, walkways and 2) open space: places of gathering, waiting, and viewing.
