Nonprofit Lead Design Consultant
While finishing my degree at the Boston Architectural College, I have worked as the lead design consultant for iKeepSafe, a 501(c)3 nonprofit international alliance that tracks global trends and issues surrounding digitally connected products and their effect on children.
I currently provide staff training on Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, as well as adapt and implement branding guidelines and graphics for digital and print publications. I also have created templates for digital presentations and instructional materials for international seminars.
Schematic Reprogramming
As part of the inner city Boston Public School system, the Ellis Elementary School faces economic challenges in improving their facilities. Built in 1932, the building has received little investment, even with significant and dangerous code violations. Recognizing this issue, Higher Ground Boston, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the “outcomes for children and families in Boston’s neighborhoods of color”, facilitated the cooperation between the Boston Architectural College’s Gateway Initiative and the Ellis Elementary Community to develop a schematic plan to improve the student’s environment.
My specific responsibilities in this collaboration were to assess existing building issues regarding building codes, implement code compliance through iteration, and present potential schematic reprogramming.
